The Artist: Hi, I'm Gemma and this is an embroidery I created mainly as a personal reminder to 'keep going' and 'keep trying' no matter what I am up against. And I hope that this could do the same for you.

I like to depict strong women in my work that aren't afraid to look you in the eye. I hope you find some inspiration in my art.

The Process: This embroidery on canvas was created by hand using a process called freemotion embroidery. I start with a pencil drawing which I transfer onto the fabric. I then use my sewing machine as if its the pencil and sew the design onto the canvas. The result is a unique embroidery of fine lines and delicate detail. I then add an extra element with pencil, crayon or paint.
